Hi, I’m Kimi! I love to sing. I love to bake. I also love our city, hosting parties, buying fresh flowers and giving presents. I’m an avid supporter of laughter and silliness as the best medicines. In my “grown-up” life, I work as an Account Manager for Rug Doctor and in my free time I bake made-to-order cupcakes. I’m dancing for Take the Lead because I believe in effective ways that can offer social, academic and leadership opportunities to children. Having been a music person nearly my entire life, I’m a firm believer in the power of music and dance and how it provides positive role modeling for all people.
David has been dancing since the fourth grade doing hip hop dance and more recently ballroom dance also. He has traveled with the recording artist Eddie James as well as started/founded the Hip Hop Out the Box dance workshop. He is currently working at Triple Threat School of Dance Music and Acting since 2007, The Academy of Dance Arts since 2015, and a Dancing Classrooms teaching artist since 2010. He is also currently teaching and training at the Best of Ballroom Dance studio in Winston Salem.
Children are not only our future but they are the present. If we do not help to teach, train, love and commit to the upcoming generations now, there will BE no future generations later. I am a firm believer that all it takes is one person showing you care, one kind act, or one kind and/or encouraging word that can have a lasting impact on a child’s life. That is why I am taking the lead for children this year.
